Reality TV show idea

Uk’s Top Model

Taking inspiration from shows like RuPaul’s drag race, Extreme makeover and What Not To Wear, my reality TV show, Uk’s Top Model, will feature a selection of contestants age 16-21, battling it out against each other to see who’s crowned the Uk’s Top Model. Through various themed rounds, the apprentice models will have to put together an outfit, hair, and makeup before strutting their final looks down the runway in front of various celebrity judges and professional fashion models. By having various big names on the show, it would raise the awareness of the show, boost its social media presence, and also lead people to watch it if their favourite singer or actress appears on it. Each episode, the weakest model will leave the competition.

The show would mainly be suited to people of similar ages to the models, mainly teenagers (13) to young adults (25). The shows very trendy feel would suit the audience perfectly. To match my posters to this audience I will includ 2 teens, one male and one female as the audience would not be limited to one gender. I have decided to advertise it at all genders due to the ideas of gender stereotyping becoming ignored and looked down upon. For my other images I intend to use themed objects that suit the show.

My posters will use bold contrasting colours to help the poster stand out. This allows a trendy feel and makes it more striking. Ensuring the title is located in the center of the poster is also something I will include as its the most important and should be what people see first. This and the E4 logo will be adapted to fit the colour themes.

I believe the show would be a big success on E4 as its normal demographic is teens and young adults. It would be aired on Thursdays at 8pm and last for around an hour. This would allow it to be a time where teenagers usually are relaxed, getting ready for bed before school, college or work the next day. By setting it on a day in the mid week, usually people would be at home, unlike a Friday or Saturday.
